Salt-Water Moon

On a cool summer night in the quiet town of Coley's Point, Newfoundland, headstrong, fiery Mary Snow receives an unexpected visit from a ghost of her past. The wily, devilish Jacob Mercer has returned from his latest stint up on the mainland to collect what he left behind--Mary. But time cannot heal all wounds and Mary is not prepared to throw the life she has built away for the sake of indulging some old flame. Can Jacob win back his long-lost love, or have the hands of time taken charge and changed their fate forever?

Salt-Water Moon is the first installment of David French's 'Mercer Plays'. It is a touching, witty window into the lives of two ordinary Newfoundlanders making the best out of extraordinary circumstances. French's poetic dialogue coupled with his innate understanding of the complexities of love and duty have helped establish Salt-Water Moon as one of the best written and highly revered pieces of contemporary Canadian theatre.

Guided Night Snowshoe Hikes at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Jan 28, 2017 Sat. Feb 4, 11, 18 + 19 (Family Day Wknd), 25 (t.b.a.) Sat. Mar 4, 11, 15, 18 Strap on your snowshoes for a night-time hike, where stars and shadows create a dramatic setting for adventure. Professional staff members guide your group on a 1 ½ to 2 hour romp through an enchanting winter wonderland. Experience beautiful trails that wind through a mature forest of 100 foot tall trees, sparkling views of the countryside at the Suspension Bridge and breathtaking lookouts from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. No experience is required and the pace is moderate. Recommended for ages 8-10 and older. Night snowshoe hikes are scheduled for most Saturday nights and run weather-permitting.
